PNC to Host Accreditation Visit

On April 18, 2011, Purdue North Central will host a team of consultant evaluators from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. The HLC is one of six regional accrediting agencies in the country.
Reasons for Accreditation

There are three reasons PNC needs to be accredited by the HLC and all three should be a concern to the student body.

PNCAA gives back to PNC

The Purdue North Central Alumni Association (PNCAA) has announced that it will be giving $5,000 to Purdue University North Central, as a result of the association's memorial gift program..

According to Amy Davis Navardauskas, director of alumni relations, "The Alumni Association wants to express its appreciation and support to PNC through this gift.

The Purdue North Central campus has its own professionally staffed police force that works diligently to maintain a safe environment. Located behind the LSF building in the Campus Police Building, the department operates twenty-four hours, seven days a week.

Bookstore features Rent-A-Text

The bookstore is now offering text book rentals. This new service will allow students to rent their text books for up to fifty percent off the retail price. Around thirty percent of all titles are available for rental, and students can write and highlight in the books just like their own.

PNC Organizations Present Vintage Car Show

The Purdue University North Central Rotaract Club, Veterans Club and Alumni Association will host a vintage car show on Saturday, Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the PNC campus parking lots.

Registration will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and judging from noon to 2 p.

PNC to Host Fall Opportunity Fair

Purdue University North Central's Office of Career Development and Center for Service Learning & Leadership will host the Fall Opportunity Fair on Oct. 12, from 3to 7 p.m., in the Library-Student-Faculty Building Cafeteria.

The Fair will give PNC students, faculty, staff and the general public an opportunity to network with representatives from local businesses, government agencies and community organizations about employment, internships, service learning and volunteering.

Ingredients

1 16 oz jar roasted-garlic or other salsa

3 Tbs cider vinegar

1 Tbs oregano

1 Tbs sugar

1 tsp salt

1 1 ½ lb skirt or hanger steak

Preparation

In a resealable plastic bag, combine one cup of the garlic salsa with the vinegar, oregano, sugar, and salt.

PNC Welcomes New Cheerleading Coach

Mrs. Krachinski attended the University of Dayton where she received her degree as a physical therapist assistant. She has more than 10 years experience in the medical field and specializes in sports medicine, athletic training, orthopedics and aquatic therapy.

Volleyball Season Has Arrived

Purdue North Central's volleyball team has been working hard to prepare for their 2010-2011 schedule this fall. The team began practicing in June for the upcoming season, which officially began on Aug. 20.

The Panthers finished the 2009-2010 season at 9-20 overall and 2-8 in conference play.
